III. [Action: July 15th--19th]
[It's been a week since Luffy was brought back home. The first few days were hard; the fact Sabo might never see him again and he's helpless to do anything about it still cuts deep. But he and Ace promised to keep living, keep moving forward. It's what they've always done, and Sabo's not about to stop now. And so to avoid moping so much, he decides to get busy.]
[July 15-19 -- Mornings, the Library]
[He'll be seen occupying a table in the library, with large sheets of paper spread out and books lying open all around him. The books are noticeably all about ships and how to build them. He's busy sketching out blueprints of a small sea-faring vessel. he's obviously not an expert, so the blueprint's almost cartoony and not accurate with regards to the finer details, like measurements and stuff, but he's got most of the main parts down.
On the 19th, he'll open his journal to ask something.]
[Voice]
Hey, are there any shipwrights around here? Or anyone who knows anything about making boats or ships?
[Afternoons (except the 17th), the beach/the mountain]
[Afternoons are spent out in the beach, just looking out to the sea, and/or exploring the nearby mountain in the hopes of meeting the Wind spirit Kipinn.]
[Evenings, the Battledome]
[Sabo can be found in the Battledome. The simulation shows a wide forest, with towering trees and a huge mountain looming behind. Sabo's armed with his usual pipe staff, and his chosen opponent is an old acquaintance to the ASL brothers: the Great Tiger of Mt. Corvo.
Even knowing he's no match by himself, he'll fight on determinedly. Of course, he's just going to get smacked around by the giant paws or batted away by that bludgeon-like tail. But he'll get up, again and again, until the auto-abort kicks in due to the boy's over-exhaustion. At one point, his journal will get knocked aside and start recording one of these fights on video.
Once he catches his breath, he'll rest a bit within a peaceful simulation of a cliff overlooking a wide blue sea, before making his way home.]

[Action] 18th Library
Which is when he spots his youngest of brothers.
Time to sneak up on him. Hopefully Sabo won't scream too much when a pair of hands suddenly cover his goggles. Marco makes his voice deeper and raspier, just to throw the kid off.]
Guess who, eh.
[It'd work better without that verbal tic.]
[Action] 1/2
But he does stiffen the moment those hands descended and by the time that deep, raspy voice spoke, he's already moving. Struggling out of the grasp to slide under the table and scramble to the opposite side, his back hitting the other shelf and making books fall noisily around him.]
[Action] 2/2
M-Marco?
[Yeah, sorry bro. He's still kinda jumpy about people coming up from behind and grabbing him. Too much bad history.]
[Action]
[Starts picking up books.] Sorry to startle you kid. Guess Ace never played that game with you, eh?
[Action]
Ah, not really! We beat each other up a lot, but yeah... we don't sneak from behind like that. That's an enemy move, you see. [Pretty much the most effective way to subdue kids like them.]
[Action]
[Don't join Marco's division Sabo, it's probably crazy.]
[Action]
[Nope, he'd like Jozu's. Seems like reasonable bunch, them.]
[Action]
Well, I don't actually want to scare you and I don't think there's anything planning to kidnap or sneak up on you in Luceti. And if there was, Ace and I would kill them so... no, that's the last time.
You're safe from me in that way, eh.
[Action]
[There's the defensive "I can take care of myself" bubbling inside him, but he manages to push that down. He can't afford to be prideful now, not here, and not when his brothers simply want to keep him safe.]
...Thanks, Marco. [And his grateful smile transforms into a bright grin.] And hey, I won't say no to a one on one training with the Whitebeard Pirates First Division Commander, if you're offering!
[Action]
Hah. I don't know the first thing about training kids. I'm not exactly Garp, eh? But if you want to try to spar, you're welcome to try. [So long as you don't mind that Marco will be basically, doing all his normal things like cooking or standing there reading a book and letting Sabo come at him and then just treating him with kid gloves on and dodging as much as possible. It'll be like Ace's attempts to kill Whitebeard. Which might be bad for the ego.]
[Action]
--coming from a certain okama]Garp-jiisan's not training. That's him trying to beat the piracy out of us! [Shudders.] Training's training, right? Age shouldn't matter! [Except it does, but shh, he's ignoring that.] If it's just spars... I bet you're just gonna kick my ass all the time like Ace does. But... know what?! Why the hell not? It's still training.
[Ego's important to him too, but probably not as much as getting stronger inch by inch everyday.]
[Action]
Much appreciated Izou.]Hey, I gotta make it challenging for me too, eh? So I'll try to do the sparring like my Pops. [Just ask Ace how that went Sabo. He dares you.] But I'm sure with a little practice against me and Ace, you'll probably be able to handle almost anyone in Luceti.
[Action]
♥~!Pff, he'll ask later; he's brave like that. But for now, he's punching a fist into a palm.]
Bring it! There's a lot I gotta catch up to, and if I wanna be useful in this place, I need to get strong fast. [Remembering that storm and raid from the droids last month, and how he couldn't do anything but try and stay safe while Luffy's in a war and Ace is out drowning. Horrible days, those.]
[Action]
[Action]
Y-yeah, 'course.
[Action]
[He's lying. He can see right through you Sabo. At least on this.]
[Action]
U-understood! I won't push myself too hard. [Wincing internally because he's planning on doing that tonight anyway.] I'm not like Ace and Luffy, so I know when to call it quits. [Just barely.]
[Action]
[Action]
Tossing the last few books on the table and rolling up some of the prints he'd scattered from his sudden movement earlier.] You busy? I might be keeping you from your thing.
[Action]
No. I'm trying to figure out what books to read for fun. Normally I don't venture into nonfiction. Or at least, I haven't in ages.
